Sunday Strolls are short posts about local parks and trails to give options to travelers who may want to get a quick getaway. It can also be used to find fun places to visit around an area on larger trips. All these locations should be able to be explored and enjoyed in a day up to a weekend.
Kittredge Park is a local Atlanta park right off of North Druid Hills Rd, in Atlanta, GA, located near Adam’s Stadium. It’s a small park that has a large single loop trail that is about 1 mile in length. The loop trail is mellow with a few steeper inclines once you cross over the wooden bridge heading to the creek.. The main trail also has smaller offshoots so you can take some different paths around the creek and through the woods.
When you pull into the parking lot you will be greeted with a large green space, a baseball field, and a community pool ( currently closed for Covid) . The green space has plenty of space for picnics and if you drive through the gate and park alongside the road you will see more open spaces to relax in the grass.
I love this park because it’s so close to the city and has multiple restaurants and retail nearby. You could stop by any of the many restaurants nearby to grab some food. Head to Target for picnic supplies and go to the park to hang out. A quick note is that I didn’t see a bathroom open to the public. So probably prepare yourself to use it at one of the retail shops or at the QuikTrip gas station a block from the park.
Check out Kittredge Park for a nice picnic spot or a trail for a quick walk that’s near to the city. Surrounded by restaurants and stores. A great park to visit with family, friends or solo.
